The tongue and the heart
Should be in harmony;
Pious souls of tile past
Ever kept them united.

Razi is subtle, astute,
In metaphysical flights,
But he doth not cure
The disease of lack of faith.

The honest, simple disciple
Cried himself to repentance;
May God grant the sheikh
A desire to follow him.

Man is still enslaved
By the magic of the ancients;
Concealed in his arms still
Are idols of the past.

If I affirm my faith,
It will suffice for me;
It is kind of the mullah,
That he can vouch for me.

A heathen is a Muslim,
If he has love of God;
And if a Muslim does not,
He is a renegade
