LORDSHIP

In fact, the present age is still
The same antique and ancient tide,
Whether statesmen give them lead,
Or spiritual leaders guide.

To bondage common man is wont
Since times none can recall to mind
This wonder is not wrought by Guides,
But by wealth's vigour blind.

When commons grow mature and ripe,
In slavish bent and trend of heart,
The governors can rule with ease,
They don't face hurdles on their part.
